NY 219 Civil Air Patrol Squadron Meeting 23 December 2008

The meeting began at 7:20pm.

Capt Wooley made the following announcements.

Shane Lipson is the new Wing ES Officer.

A SAREX has been scheduled for 17 January 2009. This will be run by the LI Group. We will participate and operate from Westchester County Base.

A Wing wide SAREX has been scheduled for February 2009.

Please make sure that you have at least 2 SQTRs open for this exercise.

A SAREX is planned for every month for 2009. Locations will be announced.

Memorandums of Understanding are being worked on with Westchester County, local American Red Cross, City of Yonkers, Railroad operators and various other City, County and First Responder organizations.

Mission pilots are desperately needed. All those near completion of the necessary training please contact Capt Wooley.

All members must complete ICS 100/200/700/800 training.  These classes are available online. Many people will loose operational status and certain pilots will be grounded if these classes are not completed by December 31, 2008.

Air Radiological Equipment is being acquired and available for use in January, 2009.     A training class will be held in February, 2009.

Lt Teichman will be developing a Ground School in a class room setting. All those interested should contact him via email.

Air Force JROTC members are in need of orientation flights. Funding is available.
