NY 219 Civil Air Patrol Squadron Meeting 25 November 2008

The meeting began at 7:20pm.

Capt Silverman made the following announcements.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Major Darren Chioffi is the new Group Commander.

The UOD for the 2 December 2008 meeting will be Blues or Corporate Equivalent. No flight suits or BDUs.  A promotion ceremony will be held. All those eligible for promotion should file Form 2A and turn it into Capt Silverman.

The Dining Out is has been postponed and will be rescheduled for the spring.

Capt Wooley presented certificates for training held over the spring. Please put copies in your personnel file.

Capt Wooley has informed us that AYC training must be done. He will find pilots for all groups. Funding is available through December, 2008. All parties need to become qualified in DF and Becker. It may become a requirement for all parties to file a Form 91.

A Basic Search and Rescue course is being offered through NYSAR. 10 seats are available for our squadron. At the completion of the course a NY State SAR Card will be issued. It is a multi session program held on 1/17, 1/31, 2/21, 3/7, 3/20 and 3/21.

A SAREX is planned for Saturday December 20, 2008.

Mini ES courses will be run throughout 2009.

Our next meeting is 2 December 2008 at 7:15pm.
