NY 219 Civil Air Patrol Squadron Meeting 27 October 2009

The meeting began at 7:30pm.

Captain Silverman made the following announcements:

CAP was not called for the reported plane down in Harriman State Park on 27 October 2009. The State Police Unit in charge did not know who we are and did not know about our MOU. We will follow up on this and try to explain our capabilities to them.

Subordinate Unit Inspection will occur sometime in December all work needs to be completed and documents submitted by November 10th.

Members should pick up a complete set of BDUs. We may be forced to give up flight suits except when flying or for flight crew training.

Please remember to file a “flight plan” or ask for “flight following”.

Members assisted in the crowd control at the NYC Marathon.

Major Wooley made the following announcements:

AYC funding will now be given to groups in blocks. We have been given $1700 for the entire year. This does not include SAREX and other training.

The 2010 training plan has been established we will be assigned topics each month.

The Wing Wide SAREX is scheduled for December 12th.

Fast Safety Program- Holiday Inn Crown Plaza Monday 16th in White Planes.

Mission paperwork has improved all 104s; weight and balances, risk assessment and radio logs must be submitted.

A Mini-SAREX is scheduled for Tuesday 10 November. All positions will be filled.

ICS 300/400 classes can be scheduled if enough members are interested.

Lt. Gasparino made the following announcements:

A new form 62-2 has been created please review the document.

The van has been returned and all repairs have been made.

182 is ready for pickup.

Radios are being upgraded abut are not mission capable at this time.

Please update all FORM 60s they are necessary when you go to another mission base.

CAP drivers are needed please apply for CAP driver’s licenses.

If you are not compliant with Safety Down Day you will not be able to participate in CAP activities.

Captain Costa made the following announcements.

Please pay all bills once received.

Lt. Teichman made the following announcement:

Shelves will be installed in a section of the office for the display of mugs for all rated observers and pilots. They can be customized with call signs.
