NY 219 Civil Air Patrol Squadron Meeting  15 September 2009

The meeting began at 7:30pm

Captain Silverman made the following announcements.

More training will be scheduled for the coming months.

Please complete the ground handling video and print out the certificate.

The UOD for next weeks meeting is Class A/B or Corporate. No BDUs or Flight Suits.

Major Wooley moderated the after action report for the 5 September 2009 SAREX

Air Crews. Need to move people out faster, once a mission is assigned the crew should be at the plane in 35-40 minutes, please complete all forms 104, 104A and 104B.

Pilots. Trying to achieve a balance between training and mission. Please review all training manuals either online or in manuals. You must be familiar with all SQTR items before the SAREX.

Communications. Trouble with message dissemination. We need more weight and balance information on all the computers. More MSAs are needed to handle messages.

AOBD. An assistant AOBD will be assigned to assist in all briefing and de-briefings. Please complete all forms. Briefings must be given; crews should not leave the building without the 3 briefings.

Planning. Needs to know who is coming to the SAREX. Please respond to the emails and announcements at once.

Operations. Better organization is needed for briefings. Kits are being put together for IC, Air, Ground, MSA and other areas.

Ground Teams. Need better preparation with road maps, communication equipment and possible gps.

Steven Smith will give a presentation on the back up generator at our next meeting.

Finance. Anyone with outstanding invoices please clear up these balances before the end of the month.
