NY 219 Civil Air Patrol Squadron Meeting 16 June 2009
The meeting began at 7:20pm
Capt Silverman made the following announcement:
Capt Silverman will make the MLO presentation to cadets, followed by PT.
Lt Stern will make a presentation on photography followed by Senior Member after action report on the SAREVAL.
Our meetings will begin at 7:30pm all members are encouraged to arrive at 7:15 pm for pre-meeting planning and light discussion.
Lt Cetta will create a telephone tree for communications, please update all email addresses and telephone numbers.
Capt Falcon reports that AOPA no longer has a Pinch Hitter class, but does have an online video. He will continue to look for appropriate material.
Lt Stern gave an in depth presentation on photography and the use of CAP photo equiptment. This included photos from the SARCOMP in Massachusetts.
Capt Silverman lead the after action discussion covering the SAREVAL of June 8 through June 14.
The Wing received a grade of “Outstanding” from the Air Force. This is the highest rating. In addition the Ground Teams also received an “Outstanding “grade.
8 to 10 aircraft, 3 ground teams, a full mission base and a secondary communications station all participated.
Lessons learned include the need to follow check lists, the need for complete briefings, better radio communications ( both in procedure and equipment) and that the ICS system works when implemented.
