NY 219 Civil Air Patrol Squadron Meeting 28 April 2009

The meeting began at 7:30pm

Captain Silverman made the following announcements:

All members should take the ground handling test on-line through eservices.

CLC 2- 3 May 2009 please arrive on time and in the proper uniform.

At the Wing Conference we were awarded the “Squadron Retention Award”. This year we should strive for” Squadron of the Year”. This is based on many things including, hours flown, members, cadets, promotions, testing and any other accomplishments recognized by CAP.

All Westchester Pilots who need the NON-SIDA pass should speak with Captain Silverman.

Information about Swine Flu was distributed to all members present.

North East Regional Staff Collage will be held at McGuire AFB, July 11^th through      July 18^th.

All personnel should wear one of the proscribed uniforms to our meetings.

The 4^th Tuesday of each month all member should wear blues, if possible.

Please turn in all old rank insignia for use by other ranks.

A trip to McGuire Air Force Base for uniform purchase will be scheduled.

Major Wooley made the following announcements:

An SDIS Mission was flown over the weekend in conjunction with Putnam County.

Members Falcon, Stern and Levy participated.

The LIG SAREVAL will be held June 8^th through 15^th. Transport, Ferry, ELT and SAR mission will take place throughout the week. Please speak to Major Wooley about your availability.

The following training will take place for members in the coming months.

Observers and Scanners for SDIS training.

Observers for Becker training.

Observers for GX55 training.

Four spaces will be available for each class.

The Regional SAR competition will be held over Memorial Day Weekend. A rated Scanner is needed to complete the crew we are sending.

The “Find Ribbon” was awarded to Lt. Margie Tummolo for service during an ELT Mission on 12 December 2008.

Lt. Teichman gave instruction in Mission Radio Operation.
