NY 219 Civil Air Patrol Squadron Meeting 20 January 2009

The meeting began at 7:15pm

Capt Wooley made the following announcements.

LIG SAREX took place on Sunday 18 January 2009. We were not able to participate because of the weather and a lack of Mission Pilots. We currently have only 2 Mission Pilots.

Mission Pilot Ground School will be held on Tuesday 27 January 2009 at 7:15PM at the Squadron Base.

As a result we will have a Mission Pilot School in February and March in order to expedite training.

All members with 175 flight hours will be classified as Mission Pilot Trainees. Extra staff will be brought in to help with training and check rides. This will be paid for by the Air Force.

Pilots without 175 flight hours may rent CAP planes for $ 35/hour.

Planes must be used in order to maintain equipment and funding levels.

In the future we will be called to do Mission Transport work.

A Scanner training class will be held on Monday 26 January 2009 at 7pm at the Squadron Base.

A Wing Wide SAREX is scheduled for 28 February 2009.

Lt Luman gave a briefing on the new 60-1 regulations.
